What Ever Happened To The Women Jerry Seinfeld Dated On The Show?

Seinfeld has been referred to as one of the greatest American sitcoms of all time. The show follows the story of Jerry Seinfeld, who is a made-up version of the creator of the show, and it is often described as a “show about nothing.” It is set in Jerry’s apartment located in Manhattan, along with regular and wacky visitors like his neighbor across the hall (Cosmo Kramer, played by Michael Richards) and best friend (George Costanza, played by Jason Alexander).

The other characters in Jerry’s life are his countless women that make appearances. Throughout the entire show, Seinfeld had 66 girlfriends. It was his inability to keep a girlfriend in some form or another that added to the comedic aspect of the show. Since Jerry Seinfeld was a self-diagnosed germaphobe and neat freak, some women were dumped by him because they didn’t meet his high standards. Others, he just didn’t agree with, and some were ditched totally. The women in the show helped make the show as hilarious as it was, and regular watchers have confessed to having favorite girlfriends. We’re sure many of you have wondered what happened to some of the women that Jerry Seinfeld dated, well we’ve done some digging for you! We’ve compiled a list of some of Seinfeld’s ex-girlfriends and what they’re up to these days. You will certainly recognize most of the people on this list.

Anna Gunn as Amy

Anna Gunn’s character, Amy, dated Jerry in season five, but it seemed their very brief relationship was doomed from the beginning. Amy was very popular with the viewers, but she wasn’t as popular with the main character of the sitcom, Jerry. When I say their relationship was brief, I mean it was brief. You might feel as though you recognize Anna from some other place on television before. Well, you may recognize her from Breaking-Bad as Walter White’s wife, Skyler.

Kristin Davis as Jenna

Kristin played Jerry’s girlfriend, Jenna, and their romance ended devastatingly. It was the toothbrush in the toilet bowl incident that totally killed this relationship. Personally, we liked Jenna, but it wouldn’t be Seinfeld if Jerry actually did like her. After her guest appearance on the show, Davis had another guest role on Friends, before grabbing a starring role as sweet Charlotte in HBO’s comedy-drama series Sex and the City.

Marcia Cross as Sara

Teri Hatcher wasn’t the only ex to end up as a Desperate Housewife. This red-headed beauty made an appearance as Sara, a doctor whom Jerry dates in season nine. Their breakup is probably one of the most awkward moments on the show. Marcia Cross went on to win the lead role in Melrose Place, and later, starred in Desperate Housewives alongside Teri Hatcher.

Melinda McGraw as Angela

Angela had Jerry under her thumb in the show and she brought his shallowness to light. He went to confront her but ended up not doing it after being swayed by her looks. Since being on the show, she has seen a very successful career in film and TV. She went on to do a supporting role in Mad Men and The West Wing and also appeared as Jim Gordon’s wife, Barbara in The Dark Knight. In real life, she is married to Steve Pierson, a composer, and the pair have a daughter named Lucy.

Courteney Cox as Meryl

Of course, we’re all aware of Courteney’s starring role, but before that she made an early acting appearance in season five of Seinfeld. She played Jerry’s girlfriend, and they were involved in a dry cleaning incident. Courteney filled the role after she had been in a Bruce Springsteen music video, along with a guest spot on Family Ties. She followed it up with Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, the Scream movies, and obviously, Friends.

Janeane Garofalo as Jeannie

Jeannie was actually one of the girls on the show who we thought could go farther than the others. In fact, in many ways, she was the perfect woman, and he even proposed to her. Jerry even considered marriage with her at one point, which gave us all hope. However, his self-loathing got the very best of him and they broke up. Janeane then went on to make appearances in shows like 24 and Wet Hot American Summer and also spent time as a political activist.

Christine Taylor as Ellen

Christine Taylor’s portrayal of Ellen was great! She was almost perfect for Jerry since she was sweet, kind, and basically perfect for Jerry in every way. However, Jerry soon decides that he can’t date her anymore because she is TOO perfect. (Because that makes perfect sense). Since appearing on the show, Christine made appearances in Curb Your Enthusiasm and Arrested Development. She has also appeared in films like Tropic Thunder, Dodgeball, Zoolander, and The Wedding Singer alongside husband, Ben Stiller.

Debra Messing as Beth

In the show, Jerry normally breaks up with women for very petty and superficial reasons. However, the reason he broke up with Beth is actually a pretty good one. They dated in the eighth season until he discovered that she was racist and had to break up with her. Not long after being on the show, Debra Messing would go on to star in her own sitcom Will & Grace. Since then, she has also starred in The Mysteries of Laura, and The Starter Wife.

Susan Walters as Dolores

The episode in season four titled “The Junior Mint” basically summed up Jerry Seinfeld. He ends up forgetting his own girlfriend’s name. He spends the entire episode trying to come up with ways for her to say her own name, but can’t. She ends up breaking up with him because he can’t remember her name. By the time he gets it, it is far too late. Susan Walters, who played Dolores, went on to do roles in The Young and the Restless, as well as teen drama The Vampire Diaries.

Katherine LaNasa as Cathy

We mentioned that Seinfeld was basically called the show about nothing. Well, how many times have you had fights with friends over TV shows you both like and dislike? Well, Jerry and Cathy’s relationship ended due to his love for Melrose Place. Katherine LaNasa took this part in an early tole and has since had a very strong resume in television. She has been in Three Sisters, Judging Amy, and Devious Maids.

Alexandra Wentworth as Sheila

Alexandra Wentworth portrayed Sheila in one of the best-known episodes “The Soup Nazi.” Sheila is probably one of the most memorable ex-girlfriends, but it didn’t last. (Because it never does). Alexandra Wentworth, who played the totally lovable but very clingy Sheila, would go on to appear in movies like Jerry Maguire and Office Space. Since 2016, she has been a series regular on Nightcap. Wentworth is married to ABC anchor George Stephanopoulos.

Kristin Bauer as Gillian

This is yet another girlfriend that was cast aside due to Jerry’s neuroses. Gillian’s crime was suffering from unusually large hands, and this proved to be too much for Jerry. Since starting out with appearances on shows like Seinfeld, Kristin had her turn on shows like True Blood and Once Upon a Time. Kristin is married to Abri van Straten and she now goes by Kristin Bauer van Straten.

Jennifer Coolidge as Jodi

Jennifer Coolidge is seen in season five on the episode called ‘The Masseuse.’ This was her first acting role ever, and her character Jodi didn’t want to give Jerry a massage. You probably recognize her from her better-known roles such as Stifler’s Mom in the American Pie movies, and she also appeared in Legally Blonde. Most recently, she can be seen in the sitcom Two Broke Girls.

Catherine Keener as Nina

Nina almost seemed like a perfect match for Jerry until she wrote him that love note. It turned out that she had actually plagiarized the note. Obviously, this didn’t sit well with Jerry, and he made the decision to break up with her. Catherine Keener, who played Nina, went forward to have a great career in film. Her most well-known films are The 40-Year-Old-Virgin, Into the Wild, and Being John Malkovich. She has also received two Academy Award nominations in her career.

Jane Leeves as Marla

Marla was probably the most unusual of Jerry’s girlfriends, as she actually lasted a bit longer than just a few days. She wound up breaking up with HIM after learning of his wager in the episode ‘The Contest’. English actress, Jane Leeves probably achieved some recognition through the sitcom, but it was the leading role as Daphne Moon in Frasier that really made her career take off. Recently, you can catch her in Hot in Cleveland and Desperate Housewives.

Paula Marshall as Sharon

Jerry ended up only dating Sharon because she mistook him and George for a couple. Obviously, this isn’t the way one should base a relationship, so things quickly broke down. Paula Marshall came into the role with a few episodes of The Wonder Years on her resume. Since appearing in Seinfeld, she’s had roles in TV shows like Veronica Mars, Californication, and Nip/Tuck.

Lauren Graham as Valerie

Jerry and Valerie had a very strained relationship due to her stepmom. The two end up breaking up in the show due to a speed dial incident that leaves Valerie totally disgusted. Lauren Graham left the show achieving big success as her role as Lorelai Gilmore on Gilmore Girls. She then followed this up with another leading role in the series, Parenthood.

Tawny Kitaen as Isabel

Tawny Kitaen played Isabel in the season 3 episode, ‘The Nose Job’. She plays an actress who Jerry doesn’t really like but is physically attracted to. Before appearing in Seinfeld, Tawny already had a pretty full resume. She followed up on her role on the show with roles on Eek!stravaganza and The New WKRP in Cincinnati. She also appeared in the 2014 film, After Midnight.

Kimberly Norris as Winona

During season 5, we saw many pitfalls for Jerry when it came to his relationships. The episode ‘The Cigar Store Indian’ showed one of the instances where Jerry actually ruins everything before he even gets to date the girl. Kimberly Norris plays Winona, a Native American woman who Jerry ends up offending. Since being on the show, Kimberly has gotten married and changed her last name to Guerrero. She’s also appeared in Longmire, Grey’s Anatomy, and Blood & Oil.

Angela Dohrmann as Donna Chang

Jerry gets a date with Donna after accidentally talking to her on the phone following crossed wires. He ends up just thinking she is Chinese because of her last name, but her last name is actually Changstein, and she just shortened it. Of course, this ends up irritating Jerry, and they eventually break up. Angela Dohrmann was in Material World before appearing in Seinfeld. After the show, she went on to secure roles in Star Trek: Voyager, Ellen, and Nash Bridges.

Margaret Reed as Mary

‘The Baby Shower’ episode introduced us to Margaret, and it was probably the most awkward and cringe-worthy. Jerry had been on a date with her three years before, and he promised to call her but he never did. He runs into her at a baby shower, and she totally loses it. Margaret Reed’s role wasn’t her last role either. She is well-known for appearing in Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU, and Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

Gretchen German as Donna

What makes Jerry so relatable and human is that he is an idiot sometimes. He shows that he is shallow after breaking up with Donna because she loves a commercial that he can’t stand! Canadian actress, Gretchen German played Donna in the season 2 episode ‘The Phone Message’. Since then, she has been seen in Murder, She Wrote, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Will & Grace, and Judging Amy. Since 1995, she has been married to James DiStefano.

Jennifer Campbell as Tia Van Camp

Jerry seemed to be reaching out of his league when he ended up in a relationship with Calvin Klein model, Tia. It went totally wrong when she caught him picking his nose and ended it with him; something Jerry would normally dump a lady for. If Jennifer Campbell looks familiar, it is probably because she appeared in two different episodes of Seinfeld. She also made appearances in Baywatch, and guest starred in Boy Meets World.

Marlee Matlin as Laura

Marlee Matlin plays Jennifer, who is a deaf tennis lineswoman who Jerry starts dating. All goes well until she misinterprets the question, “How about six? as….something else. Things just go from bad to worse, and the couple ends up breaking up. Coming into the show, she had already achieved fame as the only deaf performer to win an Academy Award, for Children of a Lesser God. She also had roles in The West Wing and The L Word.

Jami Gertz as Jane

Jane ends up having an altercation with Elaine in a bathroom stall, which is where her relationship with Jerry begins to deteriorate. Kramer also ends up recognizing her voice from an “adult” chat line. Jami Gertz achieved fame with her role in the cult film, The Lost Boys in 1987. She has since gone on to appear in Ally McBeal and played a leading role in the show The Neighbors. Last year she appeared on the hit show This Is Us.

Marguerite MacIntyre as Karen

Karen first appeared in the episode ‘The Chaperone’ and was a Miss Rhode Island contestant who ended up taking on Kramer as her coach. In the end, things didn’t really work out for Karen and Jerry, but things sure ended up great in the acting world for Marguerite. She has since had a very diverse career on stage and screen, appearing in shows like The Shield, Two Guys, and a Girl, and she had a lead role in Kyle XY. Most recently, she played Liz Forbes in hit teen drama The Vampire Diaries.

Elina Löwensohn as Katya

Katya was a retired Romanian gymnast who dated Jerry very briefly since he believed he just wasn’t about American girls. Jerry hooks up with Katya amid preconceptions and he is left totally disappointed. Eling is actually a Romanian immigrant who moved to the US with her mother. She appeared as Diana Reiter in the movie, Schindler’s List, as well as appearing in Dark Water. These days, she lives in France and has acted in many French-language films.

Kathleen McClellan as Melissa

Kathleen McClellan played the role of Melissa, who is a woman Jerry starts dating in an episode called ‘The Apology’ in season nine. The special thing about Melissa was that she felt most comfortable naked, and in his apartment. Although Jerry didn’t really mind about her walking about naked, Melissa, on the other hand, didn’t have that mutual feeling when it came to Jerry’s nudity and so the relationship ended. Between 2003 and 2005, she was the host of For Better or For Worse.

Lori Loughlin as Patty

The Full House alumni played the role of Patty who appeared in an episode named The Serenity Now. The 52-year-old plays the character who totally pushes Jerry to get emotional. He ends up more emotional than she expects and they break up. Lori later appeared on the new version of 90210.

Pamela Brull as Laura

The actress played the role of Laura in the pilot of the show. She basically paved the way for all the other future girlfriends and potential dates that Jerry would have. She played Laura who comes from Michigan to visit Jerry and stays with him at his New York apartment. Jerry thinks she has romantic intentions with him only to find out that she is engaged. The actress hasn’t been in anything too big since, and then she mostly had guest roles on Saved by the Bell. These days, she works as a real estate agent.
